Hello folks,
is restart mandatory for a client install?
I have some critical servers fwhere a restart is something that our team cannot perform.
So, if I proceed with the Basic client features fot Servers, does the agent install still requires an endpoint restart ?

Some years ago, when I was working on packetwise 9, i could not access the management ip address of the PacketShaper.S200
We came to see that the traffic from the admin workstation towards the management interface first passes via the LAN-WAN bridge before it reaches the management interface and I was told by support that this was a known issue and there is a command to mitigate this issue
I am seeing the same issue again in another site and unfiortunately, i have missed that command.
Can someone help me with it ?

Hello All,
I tried to search document about hardening OS reporter version 10.3 in KB or document guide but, I couldn't found.
I found only reporter using Red Hat operating system base on linux use for reporter version 10.3 but, it didn't describe about hardening.
Pls. give me the document or KB if you find/have it.

Hi guys,
Ive being doing some research but believe I cant figure this thing out. I need to deploy almost 300 machines, these machines are new so not connected to the ghost server.
I configured a initial deployment with a deploy image but everytime a start a new machine I have to go the wizard the select disk and then select the image I want to deploy, I need to deploy these images automatically without any user intervention.
Am I missing something??
I was stuck in "calling custom actions" then I added these lines (cd ghost ghost64.exe) to the startup.bat but still I have to choose the image and follow a wizard, I know is not that long but I consider I have to do it 300 times.

I encountered an issue in Symantec ITMS Patch Management and after importing the Windows metadata, the software update bulletin is empty as per in the screenshots.
So, how can I resolve this issue?
FYI, the microsoft data part works as I was able to see software update list for Microsoft Updates and push them to clients.
Allow CAS user_syslog output to be forwarded to syslog servers.
user_syslog output is currently available to Symantec engineers under Utilities > System Logs > user_syslog.log.
We would like the output to be available to forward to our internal syslog servers.
Is it possible to do with Symantec Endpoint Protection, a list of allowed pendrivers on a computer?

sep client upgrade feature is not avaialble for linux clients on sep console . please enable it asap

We have Sixty Linux VMS which we have installed Symantec client on our environment and We have successfully upgraded for all windows vms for sep client .
Why can’t we have the same option to upgrade sep client on Linux vms and I request you to help us to upgrade sep client on Linux vms too.
So on windows we found that option to upgrade sep client from sep console using below option and we need the same option for even Linux vms.

We are a ISP in Austria and got a couple of complains in the last days from Our Customers with their own Mailservers. The receive a Message that their IP is blacklisted somewhere at symantec... but so far we can see it istn't. In the Mail response there is a invalid rempval Link attached what is also not working anymore.
"Remote Server returned '< #5.7.1 smtp; 554 5.7.1 You are not allowed to connect because your IP is blacklisted within Symantec Global Bad Senders. Please check here for more details: http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/>'"
If i go to the https://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/ and check the IP's I get the feedback that the IP's don't have a bad reputation?
Can you check For example some IP's for me or give me an information where they can be delisted?

We currently started purchasing Dell XPS 9570s and 9370s. We are running GSS 3 in a test VM before we put it into production and I am running into an issue that I cant figure out. I have pushed automation folders to the client PCs that I am trying to capture a backup image from. I can get them to boot into automation using a wait job and they are getting an IP from the DHCP server and they are mapping to the M: which is where we want the images to save. The issue is if I run an image job I cannot get ghost to launch, the PC will reboot back to windows. I even tried manually running a command to launch it by doing the following: M:\ cd ghost, and then ghost\ghost64.exe. When I do this 1 of 2 things happens, it will either reboot into windows 10 and take me to the login screen or it will sit there and do nothing. I been working with a gentlemen from Symantec and even he has run out of ideas. Just to bring everyone up to speed, Ive installed a clean copy of windows 10 pro on this machine and deleted all the factory Dell partitions. I would really like to get this into production soon, so any help is highly appreciated.
Up until now, we hvae not worked with a software policy or managed software delivery.
In going through the process for each, they appear to be the same to me- both use a software package to install and remediate if not found on the client pc. Is there a difference between the two?
Is one more appropriate for a software delivery, installation and remediation than the other?
How does licensing work if the principle use of Ghost is using a Ghost created WinPE bootable USB to clone a hard drive for backup?
Is it the same as any other license? Meaning, in this case, one license per backup created?
Hi, PPTX presentations are put to quarantine under Executable File Rule. There is no pptx extension selected in the policy but just exe, msi, bat, lib, iso.
Symantec Mail Security replaced presentation.pptx with this text message. The original file contained a filtering violation and was quarantined.

Dear community,
We have recently tried to update Symantec Endpoint Protection 14 but for some reason update fails. After deeper inspection of system we have noticed that current state of antivirus product ( productState ) is "458752" (this was done using WMI query "select * from AntiVirusProduct").
Can anyone please clear this for us, since we are not able to find any data regarding this product state.
