Email Security Cloud + Office 365 +SMTP 22000 Emails + 6 domains
I have a customer for Email Security cloud, He have Office 365 , one exchange server onpremise and one server smtp from where he send 22000 emails dialily.
i had had thinking take the ip public from the two servers onpremise into Email Security Cloud like relay servers , both use the same ip public to send the email currently, them last step its a barrucada server, but i dont sure if the amount emails could be filtering by Email security cloud ,i found this post and this say that only there is restriction by connection dont by number emails .
Situation:
When sending bulk emails through the Email Security.Cloud product, the number of individual emails sent per SMTP connection is limited to 100.
(this is not the same as the number of recipients on a single email message)
Solution:
If more than 100 emails need to be sent at once, it needs to be broken into separate SMTP connections. This can be done in some mail programs, especially ones built around managing distribution lists, or by using an outside bulk mailer service.
its say i can send one email to with 22000 recipients but i dont cant send 22000 correo with 4 recipients each one. ¿rigth?
Too the customer have 3 domains currently ,but they will add 3 more , there is some number max to Domain checks?, and i have to ask the customer if all them use the same MX register for the inbound email ¿rigth ?
Auto Update For Unified Agent
Hi,
Currently there is no way to have the unified agent automatically update when a new version is out. For an agent based solution it is hard to believe this feature doesnt exist. Essentially we have to rely on our end users to accept the upgrade from a prompt or we redeploy the agent to all of our users. Both are unacceptable ways to manage this solution. Is there a feature request that can be added to a future update that will allow for this? How do some of your larger customers handle agent upgrades? These upgrades may even be essential to get if they have added functionality, features and bug fixes.
Thank you,
SEPM log Retention
Hello Everyone. I have SEPM 14.2 RU1 running with a SQL database. Due to PCI requirements i need to configure the logging to be 3 months on the SEPM.
Can you please tell me what parameters I need to use ? Also once i change these parameters would the size on the SEPM going to increase or the size in the SQL server going to increase?
Appreciate your response
PGP Decryption for Strings Encrypted using Bouncy Castle API
Hi Everyone,
Currently I'm using Bouncy Castle JARs(https://www.bouncycastle.org/) for Encrypting and Signinig a String. The encryption and signing is not a single function call, but is is encryption followed by signing the encrypted string.
This Encrytped and Signed Token is shared with the Vendor who uses Symantec Command Line to Decrypted and verify the encrypted string. But when the following pgp command is executed
pgp --decrypt "file" --passphrase "SecretKey"
We get a encrypted file which needs to be decrypted again using the above command.
Is it not possible to verify and decrypt the string in one step if it is encrypted using Bouncy Castle API ?
As per the documentation,
--decrypt Decrypts encrypted files with local keys or keys on a PGP KMS server. If data being decrypted is also signed, the signature is automatically verified during the decryption process. The usage format is: pgp --decrypt [ ...] [...] [options]
Please share your thoughts and insights.
Note: When I use PGP Command Line for encryption and signinig, the decryption and verification process happens in one step.
Thanks and Regards,
Vigneshwaran

Exclude Prefix Data Identifier validation check
Applies to multiple versions of DLP
In an effort to reduce false positives for several of my custom DIs, most notably the 9 digit SSN without dashes, I'm using the validation check named "Exclude Prefix" (comma-separated list of values of any length)
In my case the values are words. I've determined the list to be case sensitive (so "Extension" is different from "extension") but it is also sensitive to trailing characters such as a space; so a value of "flyer ," is different from "flyer ,". This is important when inspecting different file types. I've found a value that is effective for MS Word files is often not effective for a PDF file. Specifically I've found you need two spaces after the word for some PDF files. So the validator looks like "Policy Number ,).
To take it further it appears the validator will accept a tab as well as spaces. So for example a spreadsheet generating false positives that contains a column for US States (abbreviated) and a column for a 9 digit zip code are separated by two spaces and a tab when extracted by DLP. Incorporating those control characters into the validator (NYspacespacetab,) corrects the false positive. I've implemented this last example with doublespaces and a tab in my test environment and am still testing but it looks promising.
I use Ultra Edit but think most text editors will work. I've attached an image of a portion of the list used.
Unable to deploy more than one unknown machines
Hi guys,
I already configured ghost solution suite, I can take images from pxe, deploy images to one machine. So I decided to deploy to several machines but for some reason for example if I run 5 machines Im getting this error "Restarting DHCP clilent service: retry 1..." in 4 computers and only one runs after this one completes if I connect a new one same error "Restarting DHCP clilent service: retry 1..." so I have to reboot the ghost server but still only one runs
The ghost server is a windows 2012 and is a virtual machine, the DCHP server is other virtual machine and the computers I want to deploy to are physical.
What am I missing?
Correct migration process for SEPM to new server
Hi
I have just upgraded our SEPM server to 14.2
I now need to migrate this from the current 2008 r2 server to Windows Server 2016, different IP and different name.
Note that I am using an SQL database on another server.
I have found a couple of articles but some of the steps appear to contradict each other.
What is the correct process to migrate while not disconnecting clients, as we have about 375 of them.
thanks,
Brett
PGP User Count Help
Symantec PGP shows more users in Policy Group Membership on the Reporting Overview page than total users under Consumers>Users>All Users on the Encryption Server. Which one is accurate, and does anybody perhaps know why there is a discrepincy?
Thanks.

Hello,
A month ago we got a key from symantec for PGP command line on Solaris, everything was working ok but then the license expires. Symantec gave us a supposed renewal for 60 days but the key was the same and an error was generated when entering the key again.
This is the error
$ pgp --license-authorize --license-number "DXXXX-LXXXX-CUXXX-YXXXBP-XXXX-XXX" --force
pgp:license authorize (2706:PGP Command Line already has a license)

Can you help me , getting this license installed?
SEP blocks NIC Teaming in Server 2019
Recently I installed a fresh copy of windows Server 2019 OS Build 17763.107 on my IBM System x3650M5 machine with 4 Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit adapters. As soon as I created NIC teaming with LACP option (same on the switch side) and installed SEP version 14.2.3335.1000 for WIN64BIT i got disconnected after a restart. Further investigation showed that NIC cards individually looked fine, but the teamed NIC interface was crossed as if Network cable was unplugged.
I upgraded drivers from Lenovo, installed cumulative updates for windows, ran Symantec troubleshooter (which found zero problems related with NIC) but nothing seems to work.
Symantec support offered that some rule was blocking traffic. When we removed "block any any" traffic from firewall rules, Teamed NIC started up. Same happened when we just disabled firewall module.
I had server 2012R2 installed prior to 2019 on this machine and it never had such problem. couple years ago I tried to upgrade it to 2016, but I encountered the same "Cable unplugged" problem with NIC teaming and didnt troubleshoot it too much, since it was only for evaluation purposes.
Any ideas? Maybe any of you encountered the same problem and more importantly: solved it without just uninstalling SEP for good? :D
