Hello,
I am trying to migrate one of our builds from a soon to be decommissioned Windows XP Pro SP3 system to a Win 2008 R2 Standard SP1 system. Initially both systems were running Wise Installation Studio 7.3.0.250 and Visual Studio Team System 2008. The build executes the Wise scripts fine on the old system, but on the new system I receive this Windows Installer Editor error: "The runtime files required for this installation must be downloaded from the Internet for this installation to be compiled. Do you want to download the runtime installation file?" If I select yes from the messaged dialog, and select the Wise Web Site as the source, the download renders an error and I must cancel the session. This is apparently due to being behind a proxy or firewall (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag....) I've installed both the Knowledge Base hotfix from http://www.solutionsam.com/solutions/hotfixes/KB_39986_Hotfix.exe and the merge modules from http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag... and neither resolved the issue. I also tried upgrading to Wise 7.4.0.214. I receive invalid license errors when trying to upgrade to Wise SP 3 (WPS_7_00_SP3.exe), but using the evaulation version led to "cannot be opened because its project type (.wsproj) is not supported by this version of the application" in Visual Studio. So I rolled back to Wise 7.4. Anyone know how I can resolve this issue? This is for a support product, so I don't think I would get any traction on upgrading to a newer version of Wise if much development is needed. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry
